Over the course of many Sullivan shows and movies, we have had to say goodbye to beloved characters. Which goodbyes were most difficult? Find out here.

Character You Wish Hadn’t Died

5.) Blair Stanley (Road to Avonlea) - The sudden death of Sara Stanley's father, Blair, came as a shock in the first episode of season 2, "Sara's Homecoming."

4.) Mrs. Harris (Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel) - Mrs. Harris' death was made all the more tragic by Anne's efforts to forge a bond with her.

3.) Jack Bailey (Wind at My Back) - Jack Bailey's untimely passing set Honey's life on a difficult and completely unexpected path.

2.) Marilla Cuthbert (Road to Avonlea) - Marilla's unexpected death was doubly tragic in that it was necessitated by Colleen Dewhurst's untimely passing.

1.) Matthew Cuthbert (Anne of Green Gables) - It's the moment that makes us cry every time. Matthew and Anne were truly kindred spirits, making his passing all the more difficult to process.

Matthew Cuthbert was my favorite. No matter how many times I watch the episode, it brings tears to my eyes.
