At no point in Anne of Green Gables does Mr. Sadler smile at Anne, let alone hug her, but in this behind-the-scenes still shot from the set, actors Megan Follows and Joachim Hansen are all smiles.

In this production still from the set of A Wind at My Back Christmas, the cast, as well as the characters, are finally united at the holiday season.  What fans of the series may not know is that filming of the movie took place on the days surrounding September 11, 2001.

One of the main elements of Wind at My Back that viewers pick up on is the authenticity of the costumes.  Although the 1930’s was the era of the Great Depression, it was also a fascinating time for women's fashion.  Costume designer Ruth Secord paid special attention to the smallest details and social norms of the period while creating outfits for the show.

"My garden—oh, the delight it has been to me this summer!  I am positively reveling in flowers.  Roses-such roses!  My big bush of blush doubles, which never did anything before, flung all its hoarded sweetness of three years into bloom—dozens of the most lovely blossoms.

We’ve talked about young women trying to emulate Anne’s fashion before, but I recently stumbled across a blog that really shows how easy it can be to find old fashioned-looking clothing today that is very “Anne”.
