Story girl Sarah Polley is back in the news, this time with great buzz about her most recent film. Take This Waltz, which she both wrote and directed, debuted at a gala presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this past Saturday.

Not just one, but two Road to Avonlea alumni, will be heading the film lineup at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.  Sarah Polley, who played Sara Stanley, and Ryan Gosling, who guest starred in the series’ seventh season, are among the top with movies at the festival.

Not long ago we brought you news of a brand new film, Looking for Anne, that delves into the world that inspired our favourite heroine.  On Friday, the film had its first screening in Prince Edward Island at City Cinema and plays there until Jan. 13.

Starting in November, Public Television stations across the United States will be able to air Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning and the original Anne of Green Gables, shown for the first time in HD, over a two-year period.

Fans of The Story Girl are in for a sci-fi thriller when Sarah Polley’s latest movie, Splice, hits theatres June 4.  The horror film premiered last night in Toronto at the Winter Garden Theatre where Polley and her co-star, Oscar-winner Adrien Brody, walked the red carpet.
