TOUR SCREEN
One of the first things you will want to do when you
start the tour is visit the Options Screen. This can
be accessed by using the lever and button at the top
right of the interface (see Interface
Instructions for more details). Once on the options
screen you should select the video option which is best
for your system (default is 56k).
If you have a modem which is slower than 56k you should
turn video OFF. If you have Cable or high-speed access
then select the HIGH SPEED button. You can also select
the music you would like to listen to while playing
the game. These options can be changed at any time.
USE BUTTON
The Use Button has two functions in the game:
a) Speak with character
At any location with a single character to speak with,
the use button allows you to ask that character about
any item in your inventory.
b) Interact with environment
In any location without a character to speak to, the
use button allows you to EQUIP or PREPARE
an item for use in that location (e.g. you come across
a locked door - USING the key in your inventory will
allow you to open the door).
BLUE AND GREEN OUTLINES
As you travel around town, youll see things with
either a blue or green outline. Anything with a blue
outline can be picked up and added to your inventory
(simply click on the item). Anything with a green outline
is interactive and will have its own unique effect when
clicked.
CLOSE VIDEO
If you are exploring New Bedford with video on and you wish
to stop a video from playing, simply click on the red
Close Video button under the Video Monitor. In places
like the movie theatre, simply leaving the screen will
stop the download.
